The folly of loyalty in Trump’s America?

Rather, the folly of all traditional ethical and moral values.

Honesty and integrity of every description have been dissolved away in the acid reality of contemporary America.

And it has little to do with Trump. He is a product of the same forces at work.

The country is run by money, and it is about money. By, for, and of money.  Its government is the product of big money. So is its foreign policy. So even are many aspects of its universities and many other institutions.

America is a plutocracy with window-dressing running an empire to enrich itself.

I see no room for values like keeping your word or not stealing or not lying. Even killing is an everyday business for America’s police, military, and security agencies.

I am a strong believer in the validity of Lord Acton’s Dictum, and America is best described as having arrived at the second part of its statement a long time ago.
