COMMENT POSTED TO AN ARTICLE IN THE INDEPENDENT
That must be some journal to publish such a feeble idea and some academic to come up with it.
It is simply ridiculous work to be called science or research or even an idea.
The standards in academia have fallen almost everywhere and thus the rise in pseudo-journals for second-raters trying to get published.
Our world can be divided into things which are simply facts and all the rest, including fears and lies and nonsense.
One certifiable fact of today’s world is that governments have invested increasingly in elaborate lies and misrepresentations to their people. This reflects both increased prosperity with so much more at risk than ever before and the world-scale of so many events and activities.
In Britain, the examples of Tony Blair’s stream of lies or the mysterious death of Doctor Kelly surely resonate with many ordinary souls who could never be called “conspiracy theorists.”
In the United States, the list is huge, as you might expect in a country whose establishment focuses on controlling events everywhere and telling others how to live their lives.
Another fact is that the very term, “conspiracy theorist,” was coined by the CIA decades ago to be used to disparage honest people who just want to know the truth about some important events such as the Kennedy assassination.
That term was picked up by the press and is still used to this day. It’s a rather sad reflection of the state of our press and its relationship to the government and the establishment.
Propaganda articles like this one – The Independent regularly does them to keep the term “conspiracy theorist” alive and flourishing – always dredge up the skeptics about moon landing, clearly in the eyes of most people a paranoid fringe group. We hardly need a professor’s formula to determine the validity of what is complete nonsense.
But such articles never deal with the really hard cases. The lies of Tony Blair. The murder of Doctor Kelly , a man who knew too much about WMD. The downing of Flight MH 17 and the unacceptable investigation of it. The American-induced coup in Ukraine. The murderous efforts of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Israel to topple Assad and turn Syria into the kind of broken mini-states we see in Iraq. The infinite lies that made a million deaths in Iraq possible. Israel’s explanations for the horrors of Gaza. And the list goes on and on.
Great powers playing dirty games lie and hide what they do every day, and calling someone a “conspiracy theorist” who says so is just derogatory, not informative.
It actually resembles, albeit in a lighter vein, calling someone who questions Israel’s brutal treatment of millions an “anti-Semite.” You might not think such a nonsense dirty tactic would work, but it is repeated day after day.
It was Hitler – one of history’s great liars and therefore an authority on the subject – who explained the concept of “the big lie.” Say even something outrageous often enough, and people will believe it, at least enough of them to matter.
Indeed that is a founding, unspoken principle of almost all advertising and of almost all our news sources today. And that is no “conspiracy theory,” just a hard fact.

Nonsense propaganda.
A boycott would be a moral and ethical beacon in the world.
And churches like the United have always stood for genuine moral and ethical issues right here on earth.
It was just such acts, by scores of individual groups, which marked the beginning of the end of South African apartheid.

“If I am not mistaken, Israel was also the last country to disassociate itself with Apartheid South Africa.”
Yes, but further than that, Israel had a history of close association with the apartheid regime.
Israeli regarded the Boers as people in a very similar situation to themselves.
They had agreements concerning technology and strategic materials.
And many have long known that Israel had a role in South Africa’s becoming a minor nuclear power.
That fact has never been dealt with by the press, except the recent release of a letter signed by Shimon Peres (political father of the Israeli nuclear arsenal) by South Africa’s government.
Of course, it was all denied by Israel.
But we know there was a top-secret project to remove South Africa’s nuclear weapons associated with the change in government.
The late Dr Kelly in Britain knew all the details of the operation and how the fissionable materials were disposed of, and that fact alone may have caused his murder disguised as suicide.
We also know that Israel’s only atmospheric test – likely done in association with South Africa – was a typical intense flash spotted by a spy satellite.
That, too, was under-reported by the press.

You do not have to be “conspiracy-minded” to believe that Doctor Kelly did not kill himself.
The associate of Doctor Kelly’s, Mai Pederson a military interpreter, who recently revealed facts about his physical state – some injured part of his arm meant he could not wield a knife and made it impossible for him to cut his own wrist – is not a “conspiracy-minded.” She says he also had been advised quietly he was on a hit list. She also tells the story of the red laser site which appeared on his forehead on a walk together in Baghdad, something which made him take the threat seriously.
The relative of Doctor Kelly who said absolutely that that just was not his temperament is not a “conspiracy-minded.”
The expert doctors who’ve said he could not have died the way it is said that he died are not “conspiracy-minded.” The vessel cut could not even have bleed him to death.
The term “conspiracy theorist” often used instead of “conspiracy-minded” is actually one that, in my view, automatically marks out its user as dishonest.
It is a way to condemn all people who question the facts of something as borderline paranoids.
It truly is a term without meaning too, displaying for those who are careful of words its user’s lack of thinking.
We do, after all, have genuine conspiracies by governments with large interests. To say otherwise is to display ignorance.
This has always been true in history, but today the stakes are higher than ever in matters of international affairs for some countries.
It is, for example, open knowledge that Israel sends dozens of agents abroad in elaborate schemes to murder those deemed enemies.
And what of the years-long cover-up in Britain of the true events around Bloody Sunday?
What of the case, a few years ago, of a half-dozen American nuclear warheads being shipped across the country? Every outside expert says that the checks and balances make such an “accident” impossible?
What of the downing of the fourth hi-jacked plane on 9/11 over Pennsylvania? It was almost certainly shot down, likely on Cheney’s orders, because multiple debris fields stretched for miles, something impossible in the kind of crash claimed.
What of Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty, spy ship, during the Six Day War? When Israel finally got around to explaining it, it claimed an “accident”? A two-hour attack against a well-marked ship, one Israel had been advised would be on station and when the lead Israeli pilot made an initial low enough pass slowly to acknowledge crew members waves? Taking the ship out of commission cut off American information of the battle field and gave General Dayan the time to turn around his armor to complete the conquests of the Six Day War, the effort to secure Greater Israel, the results of which we suffer to this day.
What of Israel’s nuclear weapons program? Years of intense, high-level deception.
What of South Africa’s nuclear weapons program?
By the way, I wonder how many readers know that Doctor Kelly was one of the technical team assigned to take possession of South Africa’s nuclear warheads when the apartheid regime ended? Doctor Kelly knew many damaging secrets.

RESPONSE TO A COLUMN BY ANDREW MALONE IN THE DAILY MAIL
This is an excellent article, and the witness is totally convincing. Her knowledge of Dr. Kelly’s physical disabilities and the fact that she conveyed what she knew early in the investigation to British police are important tests of her believability.
I have long thought Kelly was murdered, the general nature of the situation in which he was found having only the most superficial plausibility, but the idea that agents of Tony Blair’s government did it always seemed ridiculous.
Cui bono?
It is difficult to imagine a more likely candidate than Israel’s secret service.
First, the Iraq invasion was endangered by Dr. Kelly’s expert knowledge and willingness to talk.
Second, he had demonstrated his willingness to talk in his BBC experience, something which generated frustrating and unsatisfactory results.
Third, we well know Israel assassinates those with whom it strongly disagrees regularly, and this has included other scientific figures, notably Canadian Gerald Bull, a world authority on big guns who had worked for Hussein.
Fourth, the Iraq invasion was not about oil nor was it about tyranny. It was about Israel and the perceived need by the American establishment to eliminate Israel’s most implacable foe.
Israel was the great beneficiary of the invasion.
Fifth, the method likely used resembles methods used by Mossad, as in its recent murder of Mahmoud al Mabhouh in Abu Dhabi, who was heavily restrained while being injected, with his room being set as though nothing out of the ordinary happened. There, great effort was made to make the event look natural. So too in the case of Yasser Arafat, who was likely poisoned by Israeli agents.

Doctor Kelly was almost certainly assassinated.
And who benefited?
The Iraq invasion served Israeli purposes hugely.
Its most implacable opponent was eliminated, his country reduced to ruins.
And the doctor was a threat to the lies that helped create that vast war crime.
Israel has bragged of its many assassinations – scores of them – in the past. It has been shameless on this utterly unethical behavior.
A truly disgusting record for those who care about human rights or justice.
