That is a perfect summary of Trump’s chaotic efforts.

It is pathetic that this kind of thing happens with a powerful nation like the United States.

It reflects Trump’s catering to the lobby for another country, one with a population the size of Ecuador.

Why does he do that?

Because he very much suffered intense fear about losing his office and approached some American oligarchs for support. They happen to be oligarchs whose greatest focus is Israel.

So, we get men like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo appointed to powerful offices. We get Trump violating international law giving away what is not his to give, Jerusalem and part of Syria.

And we get the total mess of policy towards Iran. Ripping up a valid, working treaty. Hurling insults and threats. Engaging in serious economic warfare. Trying to intimidate with warships and bombers.

All for what? This is a country which has kept its obligations. This is a peaceful country. And this is a country with which America could and should build a solid relationship for the long-term.

But America doesn’t even try.

Israel hates Iran because it is a competitor for influence and importance in the Middle East, not because it in any way fears Iran. Nuclear states don’t get attacked by non-nuclear ones.

Israel also was concerned that Iran’s keeping to its obligations and building relations with the EU and others was something to which it needed to put a halt. Now, there’s quite a reason for generating hostilities, preventing improved relations for others. Just destructive.

And modern Iran is a state with a record of starting no hostilities, quite in contrast to both Israel and the United States.

This is a country with the population of Germany and a land mass several times that of France. It has important resources, important modern achievements despite efforts to hold it back. It has industrious, creative people. And it has a fascinating ancient history.

There is no lucid reason for America to treat it as an enemy.

Iran has demonstrated conclusively its regard for rule of law, scrupulously carrying out its treaty obligations.

Only Israel and someone like John Bolton say otherwise. Every single expert and major power say they are wrong.

Israel’s record for dishonesty in trying to get what it wants has become almost legendary. So many dark operations and violent activities, always covered with words not to be trusted.

We had two Presidents, Obama and Sarkozy, in live-mic incidents, tell us what we rarely hear about such matters, that the long-term Prime Minister of Israel was someone who simply could not be trusted, who never told the truth. That’s pretty powerful testimony.

Yet, here is the United States blindly following that politician’s narrow interests to the point of harming its own long-term ones. Good relations with a state like Iran are in America’s interest.

Economic warfare in a time of world economic fragility is not in the interest of the United States.

Threats of war with the risk of really starting one are not in the interest of the United States.

Humiliating and hurting Iran’s more than eighty million people are not in the interest of the United States.

Ignoring allies like France and Germany and the EU, just trampling on their interests as treaty signatories of the Iran nuclear agreement, is absolutely not in the interest of the United States.

I should have thought the number-one priority of a President of the United States would be doing what’s in the best interests of the United States, but that is not at all what we see.

Yes, and it’s all part of American effort to reshape the entire Middle East, an effort which so far has cost about 2 million lives.

The Crown Prince is regarded as a key part of the future of that effort.

He serves the hyper-aggressive new American drive for empire worldwide.

And, of course, Israel really is a de facto American colony in the Mideast.

Actually, the Saudis and Israelis have always had a lot in common, contrary to popular notions.

Both represent privilege in the region, extreme privilege.

Both represent forms of wealth. The Saudis, oil. The Israelis, American and British dual-citizen investors.

Both want to have a lot of “clout” in the region. That’s the problem with Iran for both of them. Its size – about the population of Germany – and oil wealth make it the “natural” dominant country in the region.

Israel’s problems with Iran have nothing to do with anti-Semitism. That accusation is just another weapon for beating down an unwelcome competitor for influence.

Importantly, both represent outsider interests. The House of Saud only goes back a little while, a decade or so, before re-created Israel. It is not an ancient kingdom, although they like to create that impression.

Israel was re-created and is run by Ashkenazim, a group of Germanic origin whose native language is Yiddish, a derivative of German. The word Ashkenazi means “German.” Nothing Middle Eastern about it, except a sentimental attachment to the land of the Bible for believers, but belief gives you no legitimate real estate claims. If it did, the world would be an even bigger mess than it is.

After 9/11, the Saudis were desperately looking for ways to improve their standing in Washington’s eyes.

They did not “do” 9/11 but there were lots of shady matters that made them look bad. Payments to Osama intended only to keep him out of Saudi Arabia. Saudi citizens in the hijack crowd.

After all, from almost any point of view, America’s invading Saudi Arabia, even though they weren’t guilty, would have made immensely more sense than the pointless invasion of Afghanistan. So, the Saudis felt keenly the need to please.

Cozying up to Israel was one of their main methods of attacking the problem. They’ve been working on it now for years. The tone of all press and publicity coming out of Saudi Arabia is unrecognizable from, say, 15 years ago.

And the Crown “usurper” Prince takes things even further, just what Washington wants.

Washington loves men with highly flexible morals and principles. They are useful to the cause of empire. A version of Hitler’s willing helpers, if you will.

The Saudis won creds for covertly supporting the slaughter in Syria, a pet project of Israel’s.

Bombing the crap out of Yemen gave them some gold stars too.

As did their internal assaults on a small Shia minority, Shia Islam being identified with some of Israel’s most hated states.

The Khashoggi Affair is an embarrassment, but they’re doing their best to work around it.

The extra couple of days Pompeo gave them for a “thorough” investigation is for them to get their story straight and decide on the fall guys.

Interestingly, Turkey keeps revealing grisly details to pressure for things they want. They do know exactly what happened.

‘Iran seeks to annihilate Israel, it seeks to conquer the Middle East, it threatens Europe, it threatens the West, it threatens the world. And it offers provocation after provocation’

Thus, the fetid imaginings of a proven street thug, thief, murderer, and serial liar (Presidents of two major Western countries having so described him a few years back).

Thus, Iran, which has attacked no one in its entire modern history, is characterized by the sick leader of a country which has attacked every neighbor that it has, some more than once.

Iran, which has been busy truly fighting ISIS alongside Russia, while we know Israel has always secretly supported the terrorists in Syria.

Iran, which knows full well, just as we all do, that Israel possesses a totally illegal nuclear arsenal which it uses to intimidate the entire Middle East, only seeks with its missiles to defend itself.

Were the Israel Lobby not so important in British and American politics, Netanyahu would be laughed out the door for making such insane, ranting claims.

We know also that Netanyahu was ready to strike Iran with no declaration of war some while back. Israel spent a lot of time and money practicing just that.

He was reportedly only stopped by Obama telling him he’d shoot Israel’s planes out of the sky if they attacked in one of Obama’s few sound moves in foreign policy.

Netanyahu has brazenly stolen the homes and farms of thousands.

Iran is hated by Israel for one simple reason.

It is a large country which happens to be Muslim, and it is potentially a powerful and influential one.

Israel, bristling with weapons out of all proportion to its economy or population, strives to be the miniature replica of the United States in the Middle East.

It wants to tell everyone in the region what to do and to keep anyone who does not agree with it intimidated.
